Lincoln Public Library celebrates Library Week with contests

The Lincoln Public Library will be holding two contests in October to celebrate Library Week, October 14-19.

The Lincoln Public Library needs a slogan which blends the concept of the library’s vision and mission, history and place in the community in an appealing and easy to understand way. Library patrons 14 and older are eligible to submit one original slogan. The winning slogan will be used on the library’s stationary, website, and in other publications. Persons interested in entering the slogan contest can pick up an entry form at either the Fleming or Rittenhouse Library, or download an entry form from our website. The deadline for entry is October 8, 2007 at 5:00 p.m.. The winner will be announced on October 19 and will win a $100 Chapters gift certificate.

Students in Junior Kindergarten to Grade 8 can participate in our bookmark contest. The Library is looking for original submissions which celebrate youth and libraries. Prizes will be awarded in three categories: Junior Kindergarten to Grade 2, Grades 3-5 and Grades 6-8. Entry forms are available at both Library locations and can be downloaded from our website, The deadline for entry is October 8, 2007. The winners will be announced on October 19 and each will win a $20 Chapters gift certificate.
