Log In Changes
If you have tried to login to your account, you have noticed some changes. In the past, you could login with the last 6 digits of your last name and the last 4 digits of your telephone number.
With Evergreen, things have changed. For the new user name, you need to login with all the digits of your barcode. After your initial login, you can go into your account and change your user name. You can't use the last 6 digits of your barcode, but you can change it to anything else you want. The password will now incorporate a combination of 7 letters and digits which you create.
If you have any questions, please call either Fleming - 905-563-7014 or Moses F. Rittenhose - 905-562-5711.

Countdown to Evergreen
In just over two weeks, the Lincoln Public Library will be migrating to the Evergreen Integrated Library System. Lincoln has joined with Niagara College, the Fort Erie Public Library, the Niagara-on-the-Lake Public Library and the Pelham Public Library to move to an Open Source system that is also be used by many other libraries in Canada, including Mohawk College.
The Library will close on Saturday August 28 for the changeover. We will reopen on Monday August 30 running the new system. There will extra staff on hand during that week to help with your questions using the inhouse catalogue as well as the website catalogue. All your transactions and holds will be transferred to the new system.
Some of you have noticed that we are asking for email addresses. The Evergreen system has the option for you to receive email notices for overdue materials and holds. It can even send you a notice two days before your materials are due. If you wish to receive email notices, please ask to have the information added to your record the next time you are in the library.
Staff have been receiving training this week on the new product. We are all very excited about the new system and its benefits.
We wish Niagara College good luck as they move to the new system starting the week of August 16.

Make a Difference @ Your Library
Do you want to make a difference in your community? Do you have a few hours a week that you can spare? Volunteer@ Your Library.
The Lincoln Public Library is the busiest municipal service in the community. Last year, we circulated over 250,000 items. That's huge for a community the size of Lincoln. The rates have been growing over the past 5 years. To continue to provide all the services we do, we need your help.
If you can help us, contact either Jill at the Fleming (Beamsville) Library - 905-563-7014 or Cathy at the Moses F. Rittenhouse (Vineland) Library - 905-562-5711.
